Great July 5, 2010 Jonathan C I was given this CD from my sister in law and I listen to it every day. I have never heard of Ryan Bingham until I saw Greg Brown In VA and he mention he wrote a song for Crazy Heart. I think Ryan is a GREAT singer. I love his music
Pure Americana June 17, 2010 Scooter McGavin (Ohio) With a well deserved Oscar now on his mantel, here is hoping Ryan Bingham (who co-wrote the Best Original Song from Crazy Heart) garners a wider audience. Bingham, along with his backing band The Dead Horses, are pure Americana. While listening Roadhouse Sun, you can easily visualize Bingham singing this songs at a just above the border saloon. Whether he is letting loose to the point it sounds like he might strain a vocal cord (Day Is Done) to a more somber tune (Snake Eyes), everything song on Roadhouse Song is worth giving a listen.
I'm glad I found him June 2, 2010 Patrick M. Fowler (Louisville, KY USA) Bought both CD's after hearing Ryan Binghan play on Austin City Limits. We love both of these CD's and can't wait for more. Different paces of music...like Hey, Hey, Hurray and Snake Eyes....2 totally different types of music. His background growing up, has added flavor to his musical talents....5 stars for this CD.
Kick Ass American Music!! May 1, 2010 Just the Facts Ma'am Too bad there's not a 7 star rating. Perfect Road trip accompaniment--who'd have known there is so much heart and soul in the Southwest? Add this band to your collection--they're an instant American classic.
Interesting March 23, 2010 David Saemann This is a fairly good example of the singer-songwriter genre. Ryan Bingham's songs are well crafted, if not memorable. He has a gruff but interesting voice. His band is very good, with some interesting choices of instruments, such as mandolin. I enjoyed sitting through this album once, but I doubt it will improve upon repeated listening. Still, it will be intriguing to see how Ryan Bingham develops, if his record label gives him that chance.
