More disney trash June 5, 2010 Deimos (Alberta) 1 out of 9 found this review helpful
This giving every no talent disney channel hack a record deal has to stop. Poor, manufactured, polished, non-inspired, worthless trash, I wont even lower myself to call this music, because it's not.
Really wanted to hate this, but.... May 27, 2010 Joan E. Rummell 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to hate this but I couldn't! I've never been a fan of Selena Gomez; I'm not a big supporter of disney stars. But when I heard this album, WOW! It's amazing! The beats are fun and easy to sing and dance too, and they aren't annoying in any way. none of the songs sound the same, but I was dissipointed with the remake of Tell me Something I Don't Know. it was a little slower then the original and I really love bouncy, loud songs. but all in all this was a GREAT album. By the way, The Way I Loved You almost made me cry!
Standout tracks:
As a Blonde, the way I loved you, falling down

Purchased this for my niece's birthday. It arrived on time and in perfect condition.
Surprisingly edgy, energetic and catchy May 3, 2010 Dan-Fabian Parra (Norway) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
From a marketing standpoint, it's no surprise that Disney would promote Selena Gomez as a singer. And why not? This girl has a lot of star potential; She's extremely cute, charismatic and has already won millions of hearts as Alex Russo in the Disney show "Wizards of Waverly Place". The girl is equal as financial success. But in a cynical, business driven world, it's good to see that some of the market adjusted products ends up as being compelling products - and that's fortunately what Selena's debut album is.
"Kiss & Tell" is a surprisingly edgy, energetic and upbeat album. Although some of the songs are overproduced to appeal to Gomez' youngest fan base, they still comes off as catchy, listenable and with good melodies. The songs are overall are mix of electronic/pop rock-elements. Her singing voice is also surprisingly decent and the lyrics are quite acceptable.
As for the first single, "Falling Down" is a decent enough choice, but gets surpassed by stronger songs, like the second single "Naturally", "Kiss & Tell", "More" and the cute, little ballad "The Way I Loved You", just to mention a few. Although the last, two songs, "I Got U" and "Tell Me Something I Don't Know", pales in comparison to the rest of the tunes, the album is overall a good debut for Gomez and her new band, The Scene.
Since Selena is already sharing the spotlight with Miley Cyrus, a comparison/rivalry is inevitable. But this time, Selena takes the victory home with a album that is better than anything that Miley has currently released, despite of Miley's musical genes. Only time will tell if Selena will continue to have a place in the music industry. Until then, she certainly can be pleased with this excellent debut album.
