Of course any time you can get 99 songs by one of the greatest composers ever for just $5 it's a great deal! I listen to Chopin a lot so I bought this because I'm sure there is a few on here that I haven't heard yet. So Quantity is an A++++, how about Quality? As a quick litmus test I listened to one of my favorite classical pieces of all time from this collection: Concerto No. 1 in E Minor for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 11: I. Allegro maestoso. In my humble opinion the Abbey Simon, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra version from this collection isn't as good as the version I have already (I won't try to explain why). Maybe that's because I like what I'm used to, and the other tracks that I've listened to sound very good. In summary: GREAT DEAL!, but it won't replace some of the recordings I already have.

This is a great compilation of Chopin. I am collecting Amazon's "The 99 Most something" and I was glad I could get Chopin especially at such a great price.

Nearly 8 hours of music, for a bargain price. What's not to like? The performances are solid, the recordings are good. Another reviewer suggests that on some of these tracks the sound is "bright"; I probably prefer it that way. There are some other pieces that I would have liked to see included, but everything here is good. If you're looking for one-stop Chopin, it's hard to imagine you wouldn't enjoy this collection.

Chopin has long been one of my favorite composers ever since I saw A Song to Remember (1945. Paul Muni, Merle Oberon, Cornel Wilde) starring Cornel Wilde.
Chopin is more renowned as a keyboard specialist, almost all his works are primarily for the piano, and have been featured in numerous movies ranging from Shine to The Pianist starring Adrien Brody, the emotional centerpiece of that movie is when he plays a Chopin piece for a German officer literally playing for his life. True story.
The popular melody I'm Always Chasing Rainbows is based on a Chopin piece. For me some of his most beautiful pieces are the Preludes. When I was learning to play the piano, I was struck by the beauty of both Prelude in C Minor, and Prelude in E minor. Marche Funebre is a famous piece, and Minute Waltz is a dazzlingly virtuoso piece. Fantaisie Impromptu offers a dazzling cascade of notes, reminding me of a waterfall, and moving way faster than your logical mind can comprehend.
If you have ever bought a Chopin album before, you will appreciate what a compelling and irresistible bargain this is. So jump in, and enjoy. If you care to explore further I recommend Ashkenazy and Van Cliburn interpretations.
