Does no one do track lists anymore? August 25, 2010 W. Wharton (VA USA) Alright theres a lot to skip on this CD so I'll do you a favor.
Great songs:
Lemonade
Wasted [feat. Plies] - avoid the remix of this one
Pretty good songs:
Sex in Crazy places
Bad Bad Bad
Classical (Into) - started off humorous but I actually like it.
Spotlight - I'm tired of it but at a time I liked it
Volume
Sorta ok:
Bingo
Track 11 interlude is pretty hilarious
Enoughs good on there you won't feel bad if you buy it but you'll be doing some song skipping - and each track Gucci man says his name a couple times on the intro which is funny and annoying at the same time.
Imagine if Mozart was of extreme low intelligence... August 10, 2010 Orwellian1984 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
...this is what his compositions would have resembled. After listening to this nonsense, I wondered if I was going crazy. I mean, as much as I am contrary to this belief, but Gucci Mane is one of the hottest rappers out right now. Why am I unable to notice how great he is? Why can I not feel this "deepness" or "realness" that pro-Gucci activists claim is contained in ALL his music? The answer came to me through a friend of mine at work. It's because I am not a teenager. Rap used to be about something, it used to represent more than what todays radio suggests, even then, the teenagers were not dumb and could filter through the good, the bad, and the pure trash. But in todays modern world, teenagers are completely stupid. Look at the subject matter of their comments, the grammar, the constant stream of ghetto fool-talk they spew. It is no surprise that they relate to half-wit circus performers like Gucci Mane. So, if you are a teenager, this album is probably 5 star material in your eyes and you should run out and buy it. If not, you might want to avoid it altogether and find something a little more mature than "Lemonade." I am not a "hater" I think people like Plies, Gucci Mane etc are necessary. They help to identify the good intelligent genes from near retarded, in future people will stop breeding with fans of this garbage and the world will return to one of more sophistication and (what's now known as) uncommon sense.
Impressively Fun! March 26, 2010 H. Alexander (SF, CA) from myBlog [...]... (check it out!)
...The most surprising album so far this year has been Gucci Mane, which I expected NOTHING from. I was a big fan of his single "Wasted", which led me to download this album. And I think everything I like about "Wasted" is the reason why I actually really like this album and why it actually works. Gucci is very simple in delivery, but he does a great job of matching whatever the track dictates. The album begins with a very underground Hip Hop sound with standouts like "Heavy" and "Stupid Wild", but they come off as just very fun songs (almost the feeling of Project PAT). The album than flows into the more commercial ready Rap/R&B stuff (collaborations with Keyshia Cole, Bobby Valentino and Usher on the hit "Spotlight"), and than lands back to a grittier sound to end out the album. Still Fun though, and the bottom half of the album is definitely focused on the party with one of the best tracks "Kush is my Cologne" and two versions of "Wasted". The album is sequenced well, and the guest appearances from the likes of Lil Wayne, Mike Epps, E-40 and Soulja Boy among others are well spaced apart to let the star actually shine. Who knows where Gucci will be next year, there aren't an extraordinary amount of skills coming from this album, but he does bring back the fun that Hip Hop sometimes lacks.
"Wasted" my time March 15, 2010 Chloe76 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wasted was the only great track, in my opinion. However, if you love southern rap, you may enjoy half of the cd.
